For over 2,500 years, support for monastic life has been provided entirely by lay supporters through daily acts of generosity. If you so wish, there are various ways you can offer support to Aranya Refuge Theravada Buddhist Monastery.

Financial Dana
Aranya Refuge Theravada Buddhist Monastery is a registered Canadian charity (#764739942 RR 001).
We can receive donations through PayPal Giving Fund, Charitable Impact Foundation, and Canada Helps. Recurring monthly donations are also possible through Charitable Impact Foundation and Canada Helps.
After creating a personal account with either of these donation platforms, select Aranya Refuge Theravada Buddhist Monastery as the receiving charity. Tax receipts are sent directly to you.
We can also receive donations by Cash, eTransfer, Cheque or Money Order. Upon your request, Aranya Refuge can issue a receipt for Canadian income tax purposes.
Any funds raised in excess of expenses for scheduled monastic visits will support future visits from Wat Metta monastics and the development of a permanent monastery.

Security Donations & Donations in Memorial
DONATE SECURITIES
In addition to financial contributions, you can also donate securities, such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds. Since capital gains taxes don’t apply, Aranya Refuge receives the full fair market value when the security is sold, and you get a tax receipt reflecting your larger contribution.
Canada Helps will issue you a tax receipt.
Memorial and Tribute Gifts
It is possible to commemorate a loved one's memory or celebrate significant life events by making a donation to Aranya Refuge.
In the donation process, you can choose to donate in honour, or in memory, of someone special to you.
Once you've made your selection, you'll be prompted to enter the individual’s name and have the option to send a complimentary e-card to inform someone of your thoughtful gesture. Please note that the name of the person you're honouring will be shared with us, even if you opt to remain anonymous.
Canada Helps will issue you a tax receipt.
TAX RECEIPTS FROM ARANYA REFUGE THERAVADA BUDDHIST MONASTERY
For those who reside in Canada and have donated using Cheque, Money Order, e-Transfer, or cash, and wish to receive a tax receipt for a donation of $25 or more, please send an email to donate@aranyarefuge.org with your full name (including your middle initial), residential address (including postal code), and the email address associated with the donation. Kindly send a separate email for each donation made.
Tax receipts are issued electronically via email, unless you request the receipt be mailed to you.
For those who have donated using PayPal, a tax receipt will be automatically sent from PayPal Giving Fund. For those who have donated using Credit Card, a tax receipt will be automatically sent from Charitable Impact Foundation.
Food Dana
During Monastic Visits, you are invited to bring food, to be offered to the monks, cooked and ready to serve daily at 10AM.
Food offerings can be for the meal that day or preserved for another day (e.g. a frozen dish).
Please know that meat, chicken, fish, eggs must be cooked (not raw like sushi).
Please check that packaged food does not contain alcohol such as chocolates with liquor.
If you would like to bring groceries, frozen food, or additional requisites, please email info@aranyarefuge.org to pre-arrange your gift.
